Do It in A Dress
Five girls in Sierra Leone will be able to go to school, an opportunity they otherwise would have missed out on, thanks to a fundraiser organised by the Health Studies class with the support of the Hospitality Department.
An amazing total of $1,676.85 was raised in Week Two of Term Four when students and staff donned a dress for the day and donated money. As well as the opportunity to wear a dress to support the occasion, there was music and games at lunch, as well as volleyball, a barbecue and nachos provided by the hospitality team. This event was also supported by local food secrutiy organisation, Loaves and Fishes.
Do It In a Dress is an event run by One Girl. This is an organisation that helps girls in Sierra Leone and Uganda access education. Education is proven to be one of the most effective ways to end the poverty cycle. This helps empower girls to create a brighter future for themselves and for their community.
Well done to everyone involved and to the school community for supporting the event!
